As Adidas’ real estate representative in Manhattan, RKF was tasked with uncovering the ideal location for the retailer’s Manhattan flagship store. Comprehensive analysis of Adidas’ customer base and business enabled RKF to identify potential submarkets in Manhattan and sites within each submarket. Adidas’ space requirements changed in the middle of the site selection process - from a single 15,000-square-foot retail site to over 50,000 square feet to house the retailer’s corporate offices, showroom and retail store needs.
610 Broadway, at the corner of Broadway and Houston Street, was new construction designed to accommodate showrooms, offices and ground floor retail. The building was the ultimate opportunity for Adidas to create a “mini-campus” on one of the busiest intersections in Manhattan, complete with a two-level, 29,000-square-foot flagship store – the largest sports performance concept in New York City.
