Anthony Campagni has been a retail broker specializing in both landlord and tenant representation for over 14 years. He joined RKF in 2012 when he spearheaded the creation of the firm’s Chicago office and has been instrumental in leading the Chicago team and building RKF’s presence in the Chicagoland area. He has recruited a dynamic team of retail leasing specialists and secured an impressive portfolio of assignments throughout Downtown Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Anthony began his real estate career as a canvasser in New York City, where he witnessed the transformation of the Meatpacking District first-hand. He quickly acquired a passion for developing retail trade areas and neighborhoods and brought this transformative spirit back to Chicago, as a retail broker. Anthony’s landlord representation experience has enabled him to develop strong relationships with numerous prestigious owners and developers, including The Trump Organization, Acadia Realty Trust, Oxford Capital Group, Angelo, Gordon & Co, Newcastle Limited, Friedman Properties, L3 Capital and CIM Group. Among his most significant accomplishments was the recent relocation of Apple’s Chicago flagship location from 679 North Michigan Avenue to 401 North Michigan Avenue. He also represented Forever 21 in its relocation on State Street and secured Fig + Olive’s Chicago flagship location on Oak Street. Throughout his career, Anthony has exclusively represented retailers such as Adidas, Dylan’s Candy Bar, FedEx Office and Starbucks Coffee, among others. Most notably, Anthony represented Starbucks Coffee in the relocation of its flagship café in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood and led the rollout of FedEx Office’s small-store prototype, completing 38 transactions in 2006 and 2007. He was also involved in the initial rollouts in the Chicago metropolitan area of Caribou Coffee, Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, and Kriser’s – Feeding Pets for Life. Anthony is currently working on several noteworthy projects, including the leasing of 360 North Michigan Avenue and Madison Capital’s Fulton Market District multi-property portfolio. He also recently arranged the sale of 875 North Rush Street to Newcastle Limited. Earlier in his careers, he handled the leasing of 1702 North Damen Avenue to BCBGMAXAZRIA and Marc by Marc Jacobs, achieving the highest rent ever at the time in Bucktown; as well as the leasing of 1715 North Damen Avenue to Joe’s Jeans, surpassing the rents achieved at 1702 North Damen. As a “foodie”, Anthony is passionate about Chicago’s restaurant scene and has represented chef-driven restaurants, such as Union Sushi + Barbeque Bar, Tortoise Club, and DMK restaurants; national full-service chains Steak 48 and Sugar Factory; as well as fast-casual restaurants Roti Modern Mediterranean, Panera Bread and Smashburger. Prior to joining RKF, Anthony was with Baum Realty Group; he left as a Vice President after eight years with the firm. Previously, he was with Garrick-Aug Associates Store Leasing Inc., in New York City, where he began his retail real estate career. A graduate of University of Wisconsin’s School of Business, Anthony earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics with a Specialization in International Business. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Chicago Loop Alliance and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. In 2004, Anthony was a finalist for the Rookie of the Year distinction from the Chicago Association of Realtors Commercial Forum.
