Secures space for Starbucks, Pets on Lex and Hippotots in Retail Condominium
NEW YORK, NY — Robert K. Futterman & Associates, LLC (RKF), the nation’s leading independent real estate firm specializing in retail leasing, investment sales and consulting services, has successfully completed its exclusive leasing assignment at 1251 Lexington Avenue with the signing of three retail tenants for a total of 3,800 square feet. Hippotots, a children’s wear and accessories retailer leased 376 square feet for its first Upper East Side location; Starbucks leased 1,400 square feet; and Pets on Lex leased 2,024 square feet.
As exclusive leasing agents, RKF Managing Director Ariel Schuster and Director Richard Gelber arranged these transactions on behalf of the building’s institutional owner. Hippotots was represented by RKF Associate Stefany Di Manno; Starbucks was represented by David Firestein of Northwest Atlantic; and Pets on Lex was represented by Michelle Rubel and Darrel Rubens of Winick Realty Group.
The RKF leasing team successfully completed the assignment in six months, adding significant value to the retail condominium which is being marketed for sale by the RKF team of Senior Vice President Jeffrey Fishman and Associate Brandon Eisenman.
1251 Lexington Avenue is located on the southeast corner of 85th Street and Lexington Avenue. It is in close proximity to the area’s major retailers, Best Buy, P.C. Richard, Barnes & Noble and RadioShack. One block away is the 86th Street subway station, the 11th busiest station in the system.
“This is one of the busiest corners on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The retailers that will occupy space at this luxurious retail condo will be a tremendous addition to the neighborhood,” said Schuster.
The area is being redefined by major new residential developments, including the Extell Development Company’s upscale condominium on Lexington Avenue, between 85th and 86th Streets, which includes 170 units and 100,000 square feet of retail space. Barnes & Noble and H&M have already signed leases at the above location. Another new development is being undertaken by The Related Companies and partners on Third Avenue and 86th Street, and features 25,000 square feet of retail.
Starbucks is slated to open their newest location in October while Hippotots is scheduled to open their new store in January 2007.
The country’s leading independent real estate firm specializing in retail leasing and investment sales, Robert K.
