New York Post | Oren cooks up another eatery
03/10/2009

By, Steve Cuozzo

While some restaurants whine about awful things are, others press on with new locations, aware that there are parts of Manhattan that are still under-served.

Simon Oren's thriving Tour de France Group just signed a lease for 15,000 square feet to open a two-level American bistro, bar and bakery at Broadway Partners' 450 W. 33rd St. That's the fortress-like 10th Avenue office building that houses media companies which moved there for cheaper rents than in Midtown, including the Daily News and Associated Press.

Terms were not disclosed. The deal was brokered by John D. Harding of the Robert K. Futterman specialty retail brokerage.

Oren operates such successful places as L'Express, Five Napkin Burger, Nice Matin and Cafe d'Alsace.

Oren's place, likely to open in about six months, will have 130 feet of avenue frontage.
