NEW YORK —RKF, the country’s leading independent real estate firm specializing in retail leasing, investment sales and consulting services, announced today that it has secured a new location for Homenature, the coastal-inspired furniture brand, at 1033 Lexington Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
Homenature will occupy 4,227 square feet—2,585 square feet on the ground floor and 1,642 square feet in the lower level. It will benefit from 85 feet of frontage along Lexington Avenue near the northeast corner at East 74th Street. Homenature will fill the space with its natural-material furnishings that include authentic mid-century pieces and newly made items inspired by mid-century and modern designs.
RKF Executive Vice President Gary Alterman and Associates Jordyn Comras and Carly Geller represented both Homenature and landlord Eugene M. Grant & Co. in the transaction. Kenneth Levine at Eugene M. Grant & Co. worked closely with the RKF team to successfully complete this transaction.
1033 Lexington Avenue is an11-story, classic Manhattan mixed-use residential building erected in 1923.
Homenature was founded in the late 1990s in Amagansett, NY and has grown both its physical footprint, with stores already open in Southampton and Manhattan’s Flatiron District, and its online business. The company has experienced substantial growth in recent years due to the high demand of its products and aesthetic.
“We showed Homenature’s leaders the results of our demographic study comparing its Flatiron and Southampton stores to the demographics on the Upper East Side, and they realized the success they would have on Lexington Avenue,” explained Alterman. “The extensive exposure along Lexington Avenue provides an excellent branding opportunity, as customers from their Southampton location find them here, too.”
Homenature’s third store joins nearby retailers Schweitzer Linen, SHI Cashmere London, Bella Figura and J. McLaughlin.
“While we’re inspired by, and have roots in the coastal lifestyle, we’ve found that our aesthetic and philosophies appeal to people far beyond the 631 area code,” said Homenature’s John Heilmann. “We are thrilled to be expanding to the Upper East Side, where we will see so many of the friends we’ve come to know over the years.”
