RKF Delivers Latest Fig & Olive Location to Orange County
Fig & Olive Newport Beach sets model for high-end dining establishments in burgeoning Orange County market
LOS ANGELES, CA – RKF, the country’s leading independent real estate firm specializing in retail leasing, investment sales and consulting services, has secured Fig & Olive its third location in Southern California and its first in Orange County at Newport Beach’s Fashion Island.
Fig & Olive Newport Beach will occupy the space that formerly was Coco’s Bakery in Fashion Island at 151 Newport Center Drive. The new restaurant space will feature an 8,100-square-foot indoor dining area and a 1,000 square-foot outdoor dining patio.
Fig & Olive was represented by RKF Executive Vice President Rachel Rosenberg, who is based in the firm’s LA office and exclusively represents the much celebrated, coastal Mediterranean-inspired restaurant founded in New York in 2005. Fig & Olive has captured the acclaim of foodies, celebrities and the public, alike. The Orange County location of Fig & Olive will be the newest addition to the existing West Hollywood premiere location. An upcoming Fig & Olive Brentwood location is scheduled to open this year.
Fig & Olive Newport Beach comes on the heels of several high-end restaurant migrations to Orange County within the last year, including Nancy Silverton and Mario Batalli’s Pizzeria Mozza in Newport Beach, Tamarind of London in Crystal Cove and Katsuya in Laguna Beach.
Rosenberg, who handled all three Fig & Olive deals in Southern California, explains the genesis of this trend. “After watching the success of other notable restaurant operators in the market, Los Angeles restaurant groups are now flocking to the Orange County market,” said Rosenberg. “Several successful high-end establishments like Mastro’s Ocean Club, Hillstone Restaurant Group, Charlie Palmer, Javier’s and True Food Kitchen are thriving in the Orange County market. There is a sophisticated, worldly audience here. Some of the most highly rated hotel groups like The Ritz Carlton, The Montage and The Resort at Pelican Hill, which was voted the number one golf resort in the world by Condé Nast Magazine, are based in Orange County. This ideal mix has attracted the notice of a lot of restaurant groups and many are following suit.”
“Fig & Olive has made such a splash here. It’s not easy for a restaurant group out of New York to enter Los Angeles and be successful,” added Rosenberg, “Fig & Olive has made this transition exceptionally well. They are a force to be reckoned with. I am sure that this is a model that other restaurant groups in New York, and elsewhere, will be replicating.”
RKF also envisions bringing Fig & Olive to the Miami, Chicago and Las Vegas markets.
