The first lease RKF arranged was for 2,138 square feet in Bernardsville Centre, a neighborhood grocery-anchored shopping center on Morristown Road, immediately adjacent to Bernards High School in Bernardsville. Chipotle will have the opportunity to capture both the foot traffic from the school and the robust commuter traffic on Morristown Road. The restaurant is expected to open in December of this year.
The landlord, Bernardsville Centre LLC, was represented by Silbert Realty and Management. Neighboring retailers include Kings Supermarket, Starbucks, Fresh Press Juice Co, Lenny’s Pizza & Family, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Dairy Queen, Bernardsville Food Store, Asian Delight, The Bar Method, The UPS Store, Osteria Morini Bernardsville, Gary’s Wine & Marketplace, Verizon, TD Bank, PNC Bank, Chase Bank and ShopRite.
The second lease was for 2,321-square-foot corner space at Kushner Companyies’ 26 Journal Square in Jersey City. Chipotle, which is expected to open in early 2019, will have great visibility and serve as an amenity for the office tennats in the building, as well as the surrounding area. There is a gap in the market for high-quality, fast-casual food in Journal Square, a neighborhood with growing daytime and residential populations that is near both the county courthouse and two college campuses.
Neighboring retailers include 7-Eleven, KeyMe, H&R Block, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, The UPS Store, 24 Hour Fitness, Pretty Girls, Bank of America, TD Bank, Blimpie, Capital One Bank, Dunkin’ Donuts, Baskin-Robbins, CTown Supermarkets, Shine Beauty Supply, AT&T, T-Mobile, Subway, 3 Guys from Italy and Farmers Market at Journal Square.
