RKF Brings Lush to Renovated Landmark Hotel Belleclaire on the Upper West Side

Beauty Retailer, Known for Handmade and Ethical Cosmetics, to Open a New Shop at 2175 Broadway

—RKF, the country’s leading independent real estate firm specializing in retail leasing, investment sales and consulting services, announced today that it has arranged a 2,600-square-foot lease with Lush Cosmetics at Hotel Belleclaire, at 2175 Broadway. The brand, known for its fresh, handmade and ethical bath, body, hair and skincare products, operates 200 stores across the United States with six other stores located in New York City. It will open at the base of the Hotel Belleclaire, starchitect Emery Roth’s first building in Manhattan, this coming fall.

RKF Managing Director David Abrams represented the landlord, Triumph Hotels, in the transaction. Lush Cosmetics was represented by Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s Matthew Krell.

Located on the southwest corner of West 77th Street, 2175 Broadway is ideally situated between Central Park and Riverside Park in the Upper West Side’s vibrant residential neighborhood, bustling with life and shoppers both day and night. Hotel Belleclaire recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation with the installation of a new grand entrance on Broadway and the restoration of the façade to its original early-1900’s grandeur. Neighbors include Apple, Barneys New York, Bloomingdale’s the Outlet Store, Citarella, Equinox, Fairway Market, Modell’s Sporting Goods, RedFarm, Serafina, SoulCycle, Zabar’s, Bluemercury, and lululemon athletica.

With 12-foot ceilings, the store includes 1,600 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and 1,000 on the lower level.

“We have been working with Triumph Hotels since 2012, when they first sought authorizations for the renovation process—and we are thrilled to bring Lush to one of Hotel Belleclaire’s three retail spaces,” said Abrams. “2175 Broadway is an excellent location for a brand wanting to increase its footprint, based on the extremely dense residential market, where Broadway is an incredibly strong seven-days-a-week retail corridor with robust pedestrian traffic.”

RKF is marketing 6,600 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and an additional 5,300 square feet in the lower level, all of which can be divisible for multiple tenants.
